I bought this little gem out of frustration with another coffee maker I
had recently purchased. The one I was replacing was a 12 cup auto model
from Black & Decker which turned out to be unusable due to the poor
design of its coffee carafe. It was nearly impossible to poor water or
coffee without spillage and constantly having to mop up after ever
pour. The B&D carafe had a nearly flat pour spout that I think any
first year student in appliance design would know would not work well in
the real world. My new Mr. Coffee is well designed and the carafe
works well...no spills and the overall appearance of the unit is
pleasing. Its small and compact, fits easily under the counter and may
even allow for full access to its reservoir and coffee basket without
moving it to another position. It makes a good cup of coffee in average
time, has a pause and serve and an auto 2 hours shut off on the heat
pad. It's price is fair. Its a much better deal than the Black and
Decker.....which now sits in a box in the basement awaiting the next
yard sale.

Got it at the supermarket on sale for $19.99. I've used it three times
now and it works fine...bought to replace a 6 year old Mr. Coffee 12 cup
that rusted out on the bottom. No reason that can't happen again, but
if this one lasts for the next six years @$20, I won't complain. Had to take off a quarter star because the clock led is so hard to read. It's black, not green or red like my previous coffee makers. But since it's brewing good java, that's not a deal breaker.

This gets 4 stars because the coffee it brews is a nice cup - not
bitter. I purchased another coffee maker based on color to match my
kitchen and it makes a horrible cup of coffee - very bitter....
I got this on a lightning deal otherwise it would not be a good price - I paid 17.99 and at BestBuy it was 14.99! I missed that deal. The 14.99 fits better for what this coffee maker is.
It is VERY thin plastic compared to an old Mr. Coffee 4 cup we have been using until we could get a replacement.
The "brew basket" is just that - it is a swing out basket that does not remove. So be prepared to lift the soggy filter out and hope it does not drip as you take it to the compost or trash.
There really isn't much to say about it - it is a very basic maker - made like most cheap coffee makers - but the resulting coffee does taste good :-)
EDIT - let me add since i was corrected... the basket IS "removable" I should have stated it isn't one of the lift out ones - so technically it removes...IF you can get it out without breaking it

Surprised that as long as Mr Coffee has been making coffee makers that
they would turn out a decanter that drips every time you pour a cup of
coffee. It must be held over the sink while pouring otherwise drips on
the counter top. Our previous Mr Coffee maker which was 10 years old did
not have this problem. I would like to send a message to Mr Coffee but I
do not have any contact information. There must be a replacement
decanter that does not drip. Otherwise it makes good coffee.Finally found a Mr Coffee support email address. I questioned them on a replacement decanter availability. Hard to believe they would release a drippy decanter. We await their response on this issue.
